Formation House – Chiangrai

Supporting boys who study our Order at Camillian Formation House.

Camillian Formation House Chiangrai is under the care of Camillian Social Center Chiangrai and was officially opened in 2005. Its purpose is to educate, teach and train Catholic teenage boys in North Thailand, studying between grade seven to grade 12, who are interested in the Camillian Order mission and potentially becoming a priest.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

  •   To educate, teach and train teenage boys interested in the Camillian Order mission and potentially becoming a priest
  • To encourage teenage boys to understand, appreciate and adopt the core purpose of Saint Camillus’ mission – to serve the sick and poor.

PROJECT APPROACH

All of our teenagers attend local schools in the province and reside at the Camillian Social Center Chiangrai. Here we ensure the seminarians have the opportunity to complete school homework, learn and practice our Order and enjoy recreation time. We do this through a before and after school schedule and weekend activities.

Our schedule includes prayer time and religious studies, where the seminarians receive thorough teaching and training on the study of humanity, Catholicism and the Order mission; some weekend assistance at the Home of Charity where our children have learning or physical difficulties; and taking part in a range of sports activities such as football and basketball.

At any time and at any grade, the seminarians have the opportunity to choose what path is right for them, their future and whether to continue studying our Order mission.

TARGET

Teenage boys in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai provinces.

SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

In addition to helping the children to live a moral, ethical and fulfilling life, the center also teaches children about living life through religion.
